Today, 22 veterans took their own life. 3Bravo exists to make sure that number keeps shrinking.
Why We Race

Mission First

3 Bravo exists to help veterans at elevated risk of suicidal ideation from PTSD, military sexual trauma (MST), and traumatic brain injury (TBI) — and we focus that help on the moment it matters most: the transition out of service.

We support that transition with therapeutic retreats, adventure therapy, equine therapy, financial guidance, and help navigating VA benefits. We serve veterans nationwide and actively target our Nevada community — and we never turn away a veteran who needs help with their benefits, whether or not they ever line up at a start line.

Raises awareness across the Reno veteran community
Funds direct 3 Bravo support programs
Builds purpose through hard, shared work
Serves veterans nationwide, with a focus on our Nevada community

The Course

One Loop. Ten Times. 220 Miles.

The Veteran 220 runs entirely inside BLM-managed public land in the Antelope Valley / Moon Rocks area, north of Reno, Nevada — existing roads and trails only, no new construction, no new ground disturbance. Every loop returns racers to Veteran Base Camp for a full reset before heading back out.

Race Format

Bring One Teammate. Or Nine.

Every team covers the same 220 miles, no matter its size. Run every loop together, split into pairs and rotate, or send one runner at a time — how you cover the 10 loops is up to your team.

The Rule That Defines This Race

If your team starts a loop, everyone who started it has to finish it before the team moves on. A team of ten does not out-pace a struggling teammate. Nobody starts the next loop until the last one is closed out.

If a racer is rescued off the course and brought back to Base Camp, their team forfeits its place in the competitive standings. The team can keep moving and finish in goodwill — but their time and their spot on the leaderboard are done.

Medical & Safety

Special Operations Forces medics, including 18D-qualified personnel, alongside nurses, EMTs, and off-duty fire volunteers staff Base Camp — with two dedicated medical side-by-sides reserved only for emergency response, and coordination with Reno-area fire for additional support.

Every racer wears a bib and carries a phone plus an event-issued trackable item; a Garmin or comparable GPS/satellite device is required. Lap checks, aid station check-ins, roving crews, and course sweeps keep track of every racer on the loop.

Land Stewardship

Leave No Trace Is an Operating Requirement

We run on land BLM has entrusted to us. Pack in, pack out. No open fires. No new routes, no new ground disturbance — existing roads and trails only. A full volunteer cleanup follows the race.

Our goal: leave the route and Base Camp equal to or cleaner than we found them.
